Statewide Mapping Advisory Committee Minimize

The purpose of the Statewide Mapping Advisory Committee (SMAC) is to work with data content standards, consolidate statewide mapping requirements, and seek financial support for cooperative programs. It advises the GICC on issues, problems, and opportunities relating to base and image mapping programs and information. The state (SGUC), local (LGC) and federal (FIC) user committees appoint members to the SMAC.

The SMAC chair, appointed by the Chair of the GICC, is Anne Payne (919.856.6383).

Staff support is provided by David Giordano (919.754.6585).

Working Groups are established to address long-range issues.
